Designed for a very steep site, this 3,000 s.f. residence sits comfortably on the land. The house is entered from the uppermost of three stories which contains a garage, a library/home office with a roofed terrace, and a bath. A grand stair hall with a large arched window overlooking the valley leads down to the main level which encircles the stair core. Two large rooms on opposing sides form the living/dining room and the kitchen/breakfast/family room. Connecting the spaces on the downhill side is a wet bar open to the stair above. Along this entire side of the house is a large open terrace.

Downstairs are the bedrooms, laundry, wine cellar, and mechanical room. The master suite and an additional bedroom each open to private stone terraces at grade.

One continuous, articulated roof covers the upper two floors and unifies the volumes of the house into a humanly-scaled and visually dynamic structure. Three stone chimneys cap the distinct profile. Stucco walls are supported by a stone base, and terraces are edged in cast stone balustrades.
