'50s Ranch Grows Up

The original 1950s development of this Sleepy Hollow site was typical for the neighborhood and post war times–a souless ranch-burger. Over the subsequent decades, several additions were tacked on lacking an organizing master plan.

The public spaces–kitchen, dining, living, and family rooms–largely separated by intervening walls, were rearranged and opened to each other. A large, barrel-vaulted entry hall organized progression from the entry to the public spaces and private bedroom areas.

The only significant addition accommodates an upper floor single bedroom apartment for a disabled family member.
