Bayside Modern
This property, situated at the end of a small peninsula at the confluence of San Rafael Creek and San Rafael Bay (which quickly becomes San Francisco Bay), was where the wife grew up in a house built by her father. Now married with children of their own, the house was dated and did not meet their current aesthetic. Boasting two docks in the water surrounding the lot on three sides, with bay and Mt. Tamalpais views, it is a truly unique property.
The original house was not situated to maximize the tip of the peninsula which was prime outdoor space. The new house took on an L-shape which maximized privacy and increased outdoor entertainment space.
Entering the house from the mostly opaque street side, you are greeted with an axial view through the great room, large 2-sided fireplace, and on to San Francisco Bay. The main 25' by 55' public space includes living, dining, and kitchen functions, as well as a U-shaped cocktail bar. The bayside wall is opens with 10' tall sliding glass doors to the large stone terrace, outdoor kitchen, swimming pool, gardens, turf area, and boat docks.
The primary suite occupies the bayside end of the L with its own unique views and direct access to the outdoor space.
